
The United States has extended warm greetings to India on its 76th Republic Day, recognizing the country’s “enduring significance as the foundation of the world’s largest democracy”.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated the people of India, highlighting the importance of the India-US relationship, which he believes will be the “defining relationship of the 21st century.”
Rubio urged the need to strengthen cooperation between the two nations, especially in areas like space research and the Quad alliance, which aims to promote a “free, open, and prosperous” Indo-Pacific region.
The Quad alliance, comprising the US, India, Australia, and Japan, recently held a significant meeting, restating their commitment to strengthening economic opportunities and ensuring security and peace in the region.
India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations are being led by President Droupadi Murmu, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attending as the Chief Guest. The event showcases India’s rich cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military prowess.
